The Capt
Just Like dad
My dad (the Fishin’ Mortician), was a major influence on my love for fishing. As president of the Crown City Bassmasters Fishing Club, he led with passion and commitment. He also hosted seminars where I would watch him share his knowledge to others. I have fond memories of watching him at fishing tournaments weigh-ins and learning from his expertise. Most importantly, he took me fishing, teaching me not just the skills but the dedication and patience that comes with the sport.

My Love of Fishing
My passion for fishing began when my dad took me trout fishing in nearby streams. Over time, he taught me how to fish for bass and walleye, despite me managing to hook his friend a few times! My favorite lure was always the topwater popper, and I loved watching the fish strike as we spent those special moments fishing together.
Fishing Tournaments
At the age of 16, I joined my dad in the Crown City Bassmasters Fishing Club, marking the start of an exciting chapter in my fishing journey. Almost every weekend, I participated in club tournaments, learning from different anglers with unique personalities and approaches to fishing. My dad and I also fished the New York State Federation tournament trail together, where we shared many memorable moments.
These experiences pushed me to deepen my commitment to fishing and helped give me confidence in becoming a charter captain.

Growing the Love of Fishing
In 2011, I moved to Florida with my wife, the fishing capital of the U.S., and made the transition from freshwater fishing to saltwater fishing. This shift required me to learn new techniques and adapt my skills to the challenges of the ocean, expanding my passion for the sport.
In 2014, I became a firefighter/paramedic, balancing my commitment to helping others with my love of fishing.
By the beginning of 2019, I was ready to take my passion to the next level and opened Shark Infested Charters, becoming a charter captain. Today, as Captain Chuck Joe, I not only share my expertise with others but also look forward to passing down my knowledge and skills to my two beautiful children, ensuring that the family’s fishing legacy continues for generation to come.
